FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
We like to regularly review therapy, so after 6 sessions. Your clinician will ask you whether you feel you are achieving the goals you set at the start of therapy. There are many ways we can track treatment progress;
- Outcome measures (Clinicians will give you some to complete in sessions)
- Reduced symptoms (you may start to feel better)
We will suggest recommendations based on the National Institute of Clinical Excellence in terms of the number of sessions required. However if you feel that you require more or less, then we will review this with you.
Therapy serves many purposes from self-exploration to supporting you in processing memories from the past, in a way that is safe and contained. Talking to somebody outside of your situation, using theories to make sense of your experiences, can help put things in perspective and make them more manageable to deal with.
