Neuropsychological Services
This service is aimed at assessing cognitive abilities i.e. reasoning, memory and thinking skills. It can be utilised by individuals who may have experienced neurological injury or an illness which may have impacted their cognitive abilities.
The neuropsychological tests involve a qualified clinician taking your full history, assessing your abilities via specific tests and then writing a formal report to feedback the results. The clinician offers rehabilitative suggestions based on the results of the tests to support your cognitive abilities.
Some of the tests we offer assessments on include;
Intelligence tests
- Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS)
- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)
Memory Tests
- Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS)
Executive Functioning
- Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (D-KEFS)
- Hayling and Brixton tests
- Behavioural Assessment of Dysexecutive Syndrome (BADS)
- Trail-Making Test (TMT) or Trails A & B

These tests can be quite lengthy and normally take between 2-4 hours. The clinician can discuss ways to split these across several sessions to make it easier. We would not expect you to get everything correct in these tests, so don’t be concerned if you struggle to answer all of the questions or tasks. These tests are designed to test your ability.
Funding: Some tests are funded via schools/local authorities i.e intelligence tests. You can also contact your private insurance company to verify funding.
Try to ensure you rest the day before the test, so that on the day of testing you perform to the best of your ability.
